While casually browsing the internet, the artist stumbled upon a photo depicting a street scene. Along the sidewalk stood a tree adorned with a variety of safety helmets, and nearby, a row of scooters were parked. This peculiar sight turned out to be an illustration accompanying a news article reporting on this unique occurrence in Hsinchu. The frequent strong downslope winds in the area caused many helmets to be blown away. Due to their large quantity, compassionate individuals decided to hang these helmets on the tree, turning it into a peculiar lost and found location. The artist metaphorically likens the downslope wind to a nutrient, transforming a tree that couldn't bear fruit into one that can.
In the artwork "Potential in the Unlikely, and Beyond," the "wind" becomes the catalyst for a rapid and widespread sequence of events. Through different interpretations of the wind, the artist utilizes homophonic transformations in Mandarin, English, Japanese, and Taiwanese, along with the use of sound symbols, to present an absurd interpretation of the event. Furthermore, the continuously stirring scenes, various characters, and objects in the video seem to amplify, shrink, or even disintegrate our bodies in the digital world. This attempt aims to establish a meaningful connection between seemingly unrelated events.
